In September 2008, Larry D
Builders began the construction of
the first floor concrete slab on the
western portion of the building. The
project involved demolition of
various irregular slabs in the space,
reinforcement of the ceiling over a
basement room and pouring a  4" to
5" reinforced slab in the space.

The eastern portion of the slab form, with reinforcement rebar in place. The two
central column in this image are the remains of a two story chimney that has been
partially demolished and is scheduled for future reinforcement. The portion of floor
just beyond the rebar reinforcement (which is lighter gray in color), is the thin floor
above the basement ceiling. Special care will be taken to rein force the ceiling and
pour light weight concrete over it to form the slab.

wetted for curing.
