Shear Wall

and Beam
Reinforcement
Project
Home / Rehabilitation / History / Needles / Regional Attractions
From February to August 2008,
Larry D Builders formed and
poured two story shear walls
throughout El Garces. While
shear walls were being built a
reinforced concrete beam was
constructed around the entire
circumference of the building and
every structural column was
either wrapped in concrete or
steel for reinforcement (left)
workers build the form for a
section of the new concrete
beam that now circles El Garces.

apply shotcrete to a  second story shear wall form. Approximately 1/3 of the shear walls on
this project were created using shotcrete and the remainder were caste in place.
